Online mentoring pilot

We’re excited to be piloting an online mentoring programme with the Isle of Wight Education Federation. The information on this page relates solely to this pilot and is aimed at students attending the school. If you are part of our in person mentoring programme via your school please go directly to your teacher that shared the opportunity with you.

If you are a student at the Isle of Wight Education Federation - we are excited to be working with your school to introduce to you a mentor and network of role models who are women!

As a mentee, you will be invited to attend at least 10 mentoring sessions, covering a variety of areas with a mentor who has experience of the working world. You’ll become part of an inclusive network, and have access to various opportunities online such as workshops and events.

About us

  1. We’re a charity for girls, shaped by women. We believe no girl should have their future limited by their gender, background or parental income. Every year we support more than 1,200 girls across England.
  2. We exist to connect young women like you with a mentor and network of role models who are women to get from where you are, to where you want to be, on your terms and at your pace.
  3. Mentors are passionate, friendly and dedicated to supporting you. They are reliable and empathetic, and understand what it is like to be a young woman navigating life.
  4. Throughout the mentoring journey, mentees are invited to workshops, events and work experience opportunities. Check out some of our workshops here.
  5. After your mentoring journey, you’re invited to join the Ambassador Community - a lifelong network of young women with access to opportunities and further support.
  6. Your safety and wellbeing is our priority. We have a rigorous safeguarding and training policy and everyone at The Girls’ Network is trained in child protection. All of our mentors have enhanced DBS checks and must submit references when they apply to take part.

Hear from our network
