  1. About us

Our Ambassador Community

An inclusive, brave and inspiring network of young women

The Ambassador Community is a unique network of young women with one thing in common - every member has been a part of The Girls’ Network mentoring programme.

This community exists to support young women by offering development opportunities, careers support and access to our network, for as long as they need.

As the community grows, we’re welcoming young women back to the network to empower the next generation of mentees, as they themselves train to become a mentor to a girl in their community.

Want to join our Ambassador Community?

If you have completed your mentoring journey you should start receiving our monthly Ambassador Newsletter. If you aren't receiving it or have changed your email address please tell us by emailing: [email protected] - please include your full name and the name of the school where you were part of our mentoring programme so we can sign you up.

You can also join our community Instagram @girlsnet_ambassadors - a private account just for ambassadors and a great way to hear about opportunities and news. If you have tried to connect but not been admitted, please email [email protected] with your full name, your Instagram account name and the school where you joined our mentoring programme so that we can accept your request.

Online workshops

We regularly host online events to help our community learn more about certain careers, develop skills and network with each other. If you are over 18 and would like to be part of these live events in future, get in touch: [email protected].You can watch recordings of any you have missed here: Ambassador Community Online Workshops

Ambassador blogs

We regularly post blogs written by young women from our community who want to share what's important to them - read them here. We always welcome new topics, so if you would like to write one get in touch: [email protected]

Here's some of the things that we've been up to...

Why we exist

Our work and research tells us that young women and girls benefit from continued support and access to opportunities once their initial workshop and mentoring journeys have finished. We talk to girls to learn more about the challenges that they directly face. The Ambassador Community is a brave, empowering space that can help girls and young women to manage or overcome these challenges as they take their next steps into education, the working world and beyond.

What are some of the key issues that ambassadors are facing?

  1. Access to relevant work experience
  2. Having their voices heard
  3. Mental health challenges
  4. Financial barriers
  5. Access to a relatable network

This community seeks to tackle these issues by:

  1. Providing an ongoing network of relatable role models
  2. Raising the voices of, and providing a platform for, ambassadors and their stories
  3. Connecting young women to workshops, events and development opportunities

The Ambassador Community is an inclusive network that is shaping our impact and the world around us, so that every young woman can have an unlimited future of their choice. It is made possible thanks to generous funding from Enterprise Mobility.
