Fundraising your way Whether it’s setting yourself a distance challenge as part of your daily exercise, or hosting a quiz, we’d love you to get involved with fundraising for The Girls' Network. Below are a few suggestions to get you started but if you would like to discuss your own idea, we'd be pleased to help. Get in touch. Quiz Everyone loves a quiz, even the people who don't think they're going to! Easy to organise with friends, family, work colleagues, at the pub or online. Become the quizmaster, charge for entry, and raise a glass together. Plus you're bound to find out something that you never knew before. Games night Christmas doesn’t have to be the only time you get the board games out. Challenge your friends and family to Pictionary, Cluedo, Would I lie to you, a poker night, or musical bingo over video chat, with a donation per entry and a prize for the winner. Dinner party Invite your friends to dinner, or even try a virtual one over webcam. Everyone can donate to attend, or pay what you would have spent dining out. For even more fun, set up your own Come Dine With Me, or Ready, Steady, Cook challenge! Team social Get together with your colleagues for an online post work social and donate what you would have spent on drinks and snacks! You could also add the cost of your collective commutes. Bake sale Probably still one of the most popular ways to fundraise, and an easy way to get the kids involved in the school holidays too. Cookies, scones, cupcakes or other treats, get whisking with friends, family, or work colleagues. And if you're looking for a lighter option, why not think about flavoured popcorn? Movie night Use the Netflix Party Chrome Extension to host a movie night for you and your friends, with everyone logging on from their sofa at home and donating the cost of a cinema ticket. Run a class Teach your friends something new, like online yoga, a language or cooking class. Or you could send recipes by email for a donation. Book clubs These can work just as well online as in person. Either way, ask for a donation to join. Give it up Challenging yourself to give something up might be harder than ever right now, but it could really help to increase your sponsorship! Sweets, chocolate, nail biting, alcohol, coffee - whatever you select, ask your family and friends to sponsor you to give it up for a month, or even longer if you like. Christmas Jumper or Hat Day Why wait for Christmas? Of course you can, but equally why not decide to have your workplace Christmas jumper or hat day at another time of year and cause a bit of a talking point. The British weather gives plenty of opportunities after all, and it's a great excuse to get a bit more wear out of them! Pay your fundraising in Staying safe At the moment some fundraising ideas may not be possible or easy to organise. Before you start planning your activity, do make sure you can do it safely, and that you have checked and will observe all Covid-19 restrictions. Please don’t carry out activities if you’re feeling unwell and remember that some people may be more vulnerable to Covid-19 than others. Manage Cookie Preferences
