A review of the Enterprise Mobility Careers Clinic Back in August we ran a careers clinic with our partners at Enterprise, it was a great chance for ambassadors to hear about the many different career paths available across the Enterprise Holdings group. In this blog post, Ocean shares what she and other ambassadors thought of the event. My Experience at the Enterprise Mobility Careers Clinic! Hi! I’m Ocean, an Ambassador at The Girls’ Network, and I’ve had the chance to get involved in some amazing opportunities—from attending a Law Conference to visiting Downing Street and joining the Ambassador Advisory Group. On August 28, 2024, I attended the Enterprise Mobility Careers Clinic, hosted by The Girls' Network, and I wanted to share what I learned! Welcome by Rabina KhanRabina, the Ambassador Community Lead, kicked off the workshop with an inspiring introduction. She set the tone for what turned out to be an informative session packed with opportunities for young people like me. Inspiration from Salma JafarSalma, a recent Biomedical Science graduate and passionate Ambassador, shared her journey with us. She’s been incredibly active in The Girls' Network and even hosted the workshop. Hearing her story motivated me to keep pushing towards my own goals. It takes a lot of courage and skill to do what she does, and she’s inspiring other young people along the way. Discovering careers with Enterprise HoldingsSophie Bannister from Enterprise gave us the inside scoop on the different career opportunities they offer: Apprenticeships: Learn while you work and get paid! This is perfect for hands-on learners like me. Work Experience: Short-term placements that allow you to try different jobs before making a long-term commitment—an ideal way to test the waters. Internships: Practical experience, especially in fields like STEM and healthcare. Internships are a great stepping stone for anyone looking to explore new industries. Graduate Programmes: Training schemes designed to help you transition smoothly from school to work. These are super helpful if you’re ready to dive straight into your career after graduation. We also heard from other speakers who shared their journeys, including one who started as an intern and is now working in recruitment! Future GoalsI’m heading to Kent University to study law, and after hearing about all the possibilities, I hope to apply for a 3-month internship with Enterprise in their legal department after my first year. I’m already excited to see where this path takes me! Fun fact - I actually took a picture of an Enterprise van the other day. Who knew I’d be this interested in their career options?! . What other young people said about the workshop: I didn't know much about Enterprise before, but hearing about their apprenticeships and graduate programs really opened my eyes to new career options. I’m excited to explore what they offer! The workshop was really informative. I had no idea you could do short-term work internships with Enterprise, and now I’m thinking of applying for one next summer! The best part for me was learning about the graduate schemes. I’m in my final year of university, and the way they help you transition from studying to working is exactly what I need. The workshop really inspired me to think outside the box and consider industries I hadn’t thought of before. Thanks for a great account of the event Ocean.
