The Girls’ Network Ambassadors took part in a focused online session exploring body image, eating culture, and the impact of media on how we see ourselves. The workshop was led by Nicola Chan, founder of Waishee Coaching, who drew from her personal and professional experience to guide the discussion.

Nicola shared her story of navigating the fitness and wellness industry, touching on how it shaped her relationship with her body and food. She offered practical insights into topics like set point theory, intuitive eating and movement, and the emotional weight of unrealistic body standards. The session also examined the role of social media, with a thoughtful approach to recognising its influence while setting boundaries through practices like digital detoxing.

Participants were encouraged to reflect, ask questions, and take away ideas that supported both understanding and self-awareness -without pressure or judgement. The atmosphere was open and thoughtful, allowing for honest conversation around sensitive experiences.

Please note - this workshop contains brief references to eating disorders based on the facilitators lived experience.
